Seasons perpetual basis, so too does University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center. We are constantly upgrading our facilities and adding new services to better serve the residents in and around the greater Geauga region who need high-quality, accessible healthcare. To accommodate the growing demand for state-of-the-art surgical services, we are nearing completion of a $4.5 million expansion of our surgery pavilion. The 6,600-square-foot addition will be dedicated to orthopaedic, vascular, weight-loss (bariatric) and general surgery procedures. Due to an increasing number of patients who live and work in Lake County, University Hospitals is constructing a new health center in Concord Township at the intersection of Interstate 90 and State Route 44. The center, scheduled to open in 2009, will include primary and specialty care physician offices as well as state-of-the-art diagnostic services. A number of exciting programs are being integrated into our new and upgraded campus as we realize the Geauga Medical Center vision of becoming a destination site to benefit the growing and changing population we serve. We recently opened a dedicated Orthopaedic Hand and Upper Extremity Center, where minimally invasive and advanced microsurgery techniques are combined with sophisticated technology and therapy regimens to help individuals overcome severe injuries to hands, arms and shoulders. And with the addition of a board-certified, fellowshiptrained physician specializing in neuromuscular disease, Geauga Medical Center now offers precise diagnosis and treatment of headaches, strokes, pain and other disorders affecting the brain, spine and nervous system in our neurological center. Geauga Medical Center also reaches out to the community on an ongoing basis to provide education and support for residents who desire to learn more about living healthier, more productive lives. As we experience rapid growth and transformation, please be assured one thing will never change: our commitment to your continued good health. 2 Summer 2008 as the seasons change on a Support Our Mission The spirit of generosity is alive and well at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center.
