In early summer, CTMC completed an expansion and upgrade to its Lighthouse Magnetic Resonance Imaging Suite. e new suite includes a beautiful and spacious main scanning area, a patient staging area for both before and a er their MRI-guided biopsy procedures, all new dressing rooms and restrooms, as well as a comfortable new waiting area. As part of its ongoing commitment to women’s health, CTMC used 2007 Stars of Texas Gala proceeds to purchase additional imaging tools to better visualize smaller lesions that cannot be seen in traditional mammography or ultrasound imaging. A seven-channel MRI breast coil and 3-D/4-D ultrasound unit both have been added to the CTMC arsenal in the ght against breast cancer. CTMC also recently changed PET/CT scan providers to improve speed and the accuracy of studies. ■ A ! Did You Know? Breast exams save thousands of lives each year.
