That’s the E ach year, hundreds of pastors and spiritual leaders visit CTMC to nurture and comfort ailing members of their congregation. is shared mission has served as the cornerstone for the San Marcos Ministerial Association’s partnerships with CTMC for a number of mission outreach e orts each year. “Put simply,” says Merlin Starr, CTMC director of Ministry and Mission, “the Association enhances our understanding of one another and promotes a collegiality among spiritual leaders in our community.” is spirit of collaboration has formed over time, thanks to monthly gatherings at the hospital that began in 1984. e partnership has produced a number of annual e orts, including a Mission Conference for members of the San Marcos Ministerial Association and Spirit (From le ) Rev. Bruce Wilson, Pastor Paul Buntyn and Pastor Sam Montoya discuss their mission of spiritual healing inside the CTMC chapel. Ministerial Association furthers spiritual collaboration an annual interdenominational Community anksgiving Service. Additionally, churches within the Association have bene ted from CTMC support to supply, underwrite and sometimes sta medical missions to developing countries. “Central Texas Medical Center makes every e ort to reach out to the community and is always welcoming and encouraging,” says Pastor Lin Penland of Holland Street Church of Christ. “ e presence of the San Marcos Ministerial Association at the hospital creates a team e ort to heal people physically, spiritually and emotionally.” Pastor Sam Montoya of Sinai Pentecostal Church added, “ is is a very unique hospital as they are involved spiritually with the faith community.
