Starry Nights (and Days) in Cannes Glamour reigns at the JW Marriott Cannes during the Cannes Film Festival. The glamour of the French Riviera is undeniable, and never more so than at the see-and-be-seen series of parties, art showings and events that were held at the JW MarriOtt CannES during the 65th Cannes Film Festival. The hottest names in film, fashion and entertainment made their way to this iconic hotel located just steps from the beach to mix, mingle and relax at multiple VIP events in between film showings and red-carpet appearances. Celebrating its 10th year at the Festival, Nikki Beach chose the hotel’s terrace to entertain party guests. Others found themselves intrigued by the “Dark Room,” an after party that featured a Belvedere Vodka Terrace Bar and a studio showcasing the works of photographer Eric Mercier. French socialite and well-known party-giver Albane Cleret chose the hotel’s rooftop to host her exclusive nightly Festival fête, an invitation-only nightclub, while the VIP Room attracted revelers to yet another nightclub scene every evening. In addition to the parties, Christie’s used the timing of the Film Festival to present a pre-auction exhibition that featured the works of Impressionist and Modern Art, as well as Post-War and Contemporary Art, including rare pieces by Pablo Picasso, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol. The unparalleled view of the Mediterranean Sea from the exclusive rooftop bar at the JW Marriott Cannes. JW Marriott Sponsors Christie’s Bid to Save the Earth Over $5 million raised for nonprofit organizations. Christie’s, a JW Marriott partner expert, held its third annual Green Auction: Bid to Save the Earth 2012, with proceeds designated to benefit four of the world’s leading nonprofit environmental organizations. Supported by JW Marriott, the event was co-chaired by Graydon and Anna Carter, James R. Hedges IV, François-Henri Pinault and Salma Hayek, and David and Susan Rockefeller, with a live musical performance by Grace Potter of Grace Potter & the Nocturnals. After an exclusive cocktail reception presented by Grey Goose® Vodka, the live auction offered attendees the opportunity to purchase rare, one-of-a-kind fantasy lots. To date, the Green Auction has successfully raised over $5 million for its four beneficiaries. Greeting guests was an organic tribute to the JW Marriott griffin, inspired by Jeff Koons’ Puppy sculpture at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao.
