PERFECT MANHATTAN The JW Marriott London Grosvenor House isn’t simply highly selective about the spirits it uses—in a few cases it actually arranges for custom-made blends. In collaboration with Jack Daniels, the team at the JW Marriott Steakhouse tested an assortment of expressions of Jack Daniels Single Barrel. They settled on a blend that perfectly matched their needs. Batch 1007, unique to Grosvenor House, offers elegant maple and vanilla notes while displaying a punchy spiciness coupled with a long, leisurely finish that is more akin to scotch malt whiskies. Beverage Manager Pierce du Plessis reserves the signature batch for three traditional cocktails—a Sazerac, an Old Fashioned and a Perfect Manhattan—that can only be enjoyed at its bar. _________ 60 ml.
