Most likely the salesperson would offer him other jackets in green and suede. The shopper wouldn’t be surprised—he knows the salesperson is there, watching him. It all makes sense—out in the real world. It’s when the same thing happens online that it gives a shopper pause. Most Internet users have some basic awareness that they are being tracked. They might search for a pair of J WM MAGAZINE shoes, only to find ads for those very same shoes the next time they go online. But in all likelihood they have only a hazy sense of how the process works.
