irport security lines, bad coffee, long meetings in windowless rooms— sometimes business travel exhausts my soul. Thankfully, there are antidotes to the daily itinerary that are integral to being a working person on the road. Among the ingredients for resuscitating my mojo: fresh air, lots of sky, green grass and a few hours to exhale immediately come to mind. The ﬁrst time—more than a decade ago—I spent four hours on a golf course, I thought I was going to lose my mind. It was almost impossible for me, a multitasking working mom, to A ride around with no phone, no computer and focus on one thing. Then I realized: That’s the point. The nicest gift I can give myself (and my colleagues) is to schedule my day in a way that allows for time to relax, renew and rediscover my Zen. There is no better way to unplug from the pressures of life and work than a few hours on a golf course.
