Scot Kaufman Cancer Center at Upper Chesapeake Health. Afﬁliated with our partner, the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center, the Kaufman Cancer Center is a facility built by our neighbors for our neighbors. I have fondly referred to our fundraising campaign as an “Amish barn raising” in that it has galvanized our community toward providing Hope and Healing Close to Home in the form of a fully integrated, high-quality cancer center. Many of you have been part of this journey with us and we thank you for your support and enthusiasm. I have been humbled by the stories of cancer survivors and their families, impressed by the number of experts I have met during program development, and inspired by all the hard-working and generous team members I get to work with every day. You will learn more about our Kaufman Cancer Center campaign in this issue and about a variety of new or expanded program offerings. Wellness and prevention will continue to be the main themes in our quarterly magazine and we welcome your feedback so that we can make each issue one that you will look forward to reading.
