KNOW THE
WARNING
SIGNS OF
A STROKE
According to the American Stroke

Teaming Up
for Cancer Care
The average cancer patient makes more than 100 visits for
treatment during his or her first year after diagnosis—many
must drive 45 minutes or more each time. But all of that
has changed since Upper Chesapeake Health (UCH) and
the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center (UMGCC) teamed up to enhance
cancer care services for individuals
in and around Harford County. This
formal partnership brings a new
comprehensive care facility and a
multidisciplinary approach to care
directly to our community.
The new 75,000-square-foot
Patricia D. and M. Scot Kaufman
Cancer Center will open on the
campus of Upper Chesapeake
To keep up with

T
IME TO CALL 911
If the person shows any of these symptoms, even if the symptoms go away, call 911
and get him or her to the hospital immediately.
FAST is an easy way to remember the
sudden signs and symptoms of a stroke.
When you can spot the signs, you’ll know
quickly that you need to call 911 for help.
This is important because the sooner a stroke
victim gets to the hospital, the sooner he or
she will get treatment. And that can make a
remarkable difference in recovery.
