COVER LINKS FEATURED BRIAN O'NEILL, '99 BSMUS Percussionist Brian O'Neill, '99 BSMUS (pictured at right on the far left), is a member of Mr. Ho's Orchestrotica, a global jazz and exotic chamber music quartet. The group recently released its third album, Where Here Meets There, a "deliciously demented" album that harkens to a musical era that never existed- combining elements of '50s and '60s armchair safari-ism along with futuristic rhythms. "I love the root of the genre: being an outsider who invents imaginary moods and places through music. I think our sound is a modern upgrade on the past, rather than a tribute," Brian says. SPOTLIGHT CONNECTIONS Q&A 2000s Utah State University Eastern welcomes Rhonda Rhodes, '00 MM, as music instructor and conductor. A lifelong musician, she plays more than eight instruments. "I'm hungry for performances," she says. Stephanie Zwyghuizen, '00 MS, was promoted to full professor at Jamestown Community College in Jamestown, N.Y. She has taught share mathematics at the Jamestown campus since 2000 and serves as the coordinator of the mathematics program. Tracy Stevens, '01 MED, is director of development and engineering services for the city Tracy Stevens, '01 MED of Avondale, Ariz. She has been with Avondale for more than seven years, and prior to that, worked for the planning departments of Glendale and Peoria. Jake White, '01 BS, welcomed Lumberjack triplets into the world on April 2, 2013: Brayden, Braxton and Ainsley. Ben Allen, '03 BS, an NAU Alumni Association board of directors member, celebrated the birth of his first daughter, Avery, on Oct. 27, 2013. Avery Allen Brayden, Braxton and Ainsley White Paleontologist Randall Irmis, '04 BS, is living the dinosaur dream as curator at the Natural History Museum of Utah. He spends his time unearthing and studying fossils to determine how ecosystems change with the evolution of different species. Most of his fieldwork is conducted in southern Utah at Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. Arizona Stronghold Vineyards has promoted Michael Pierce, '04 BS, to winemaker. He will head all winemaking production operations and market support for the Cottonwood, Ariz.based company. Three generations of Lumberjacks!
