Like one time I had Bart invent a mnemonic for remembering the governors-general of Canada: Clowns Love Haircuts; So Should Lee Marvin’s Valet. I’m quite confident that if I hadn’t been born, that joke would never have been written. What are some of the big challenges in keeping a series alive for so long? As long as the writers keep having personal problems, the show will have a very deep well of material to draw on. “The Simpsons” can be quite dark. Is it a challenge to write such a show in a sunny environment like L.A.? Nothing is more depressing than 200 straight days of sunshine — just ask Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys. What do you most enjoy doing in L.A. during your nonwork time? My two favorite things are driving aimlessly and laughing with my wife. And it’s even better when I do both together (though hazardous for my fellow motorists). AR ABESQUE This page. Men’s items range from casual jeans and Converse sneakers to button-down shirts by Gant and J.Lindeberg. Near the University of Miami, this is virtually a college town — and the youthful, somewhat bohemian feeling of its streets and shops reflects that.
