— One evening, a
guest called in-room dining to inquire
whether the hotel served fried carrot cake,
a famous dish in Singapore. The hotel
did not have it on the menu, but sensing
his disappointment, the team decided to
do something about it. The chef prepared
the decadent treat just for him, and it was
delivered with the recipe and a special
note: “Surprise! Here’s your very own
sample of The Ritz-Carlton Carrot Cake.
We didn’t want you to leave wondering
what it tastes like!”
