And The Ritz-Carlton delivers. But sometimes, they want something more, well, Cirque de Soleil. That’s what happened at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel when a bride and groom wanted nuptials that would be recalled with awe for years to come. After this couple was officially deemed husband and wife, guests were led to the property’s lawn, where an aerialist “champagne angel” awaited. Suspended from a metal structure, she greeted guests, gliding in a harness to pour Veuve Cliquot from the skies into the guests’ outstretched fluted glasses. After an informal dinner featuring deconstructed entrees at food stations and individual plated salads, guests were directed to an afterglow area by “human moving flowers,” performers in floral costumes made up like an array of Mother Nature’s finest. At the main pool area, “bubble girls” floated inside gigantic plastic bubbles atop the pool, directing guests to the lounge area where a DJ provided ambient music and dessert was served. a little sizzle. there, mixologists created the blue Pop Martini — a cocktail served in a martini glass rimmed with crushed Pop rocks candy for a mouthful of sizzling, fizzling fun. Here’s the mix: 1 oz. Grey Goose la Poire 1 oz.
