Community ConneCtions Making Strides Redevelopment plans progress for Sloan’s Lake Campus t has been more than a year since St. Anthony physicians, programs, staff and support teams relocated from the revered site on the shores of Sloan’s Lake to the new St. Anthony Medical Campus in Lakewood. Hospital and Centura Health leaders began working immediately with Denver’s Romani Group to find the right buyer for the property. According to Romani Group representative Eric Shafran, a contract to purchase the campus was signed June 1, 2012, with EFG Brownfield Partners, a Denver-based real estate developer. The firm will spend the next six months assessing the environmental conditions of the campus, as well as reaching out to the community to discuss redevelopment intentions. Completion of the sale is expected in early 2013. Initial plans call for a blending of residential and mixed-use in keeping with the unique Sloan’s Lake environment. One requirement of the sale is the commitment to provide St. Anthony Hospital a home for its legacy health services on the old campus. That piece is now in place, with the opening of St. Anthony Sloan’s Lake Health Center at 4200 W. Conejos, Suite 134. The health center offers full-service primary care, urgent care, X-ray and Health Passport services. For more information on St. Anthony Sloan’s Lake Health Center, call 720-321-8880. Ready & Responsive St. Anthony Hospital recently partnered with the City of Lakewood, Lakewood Police Department, Regional Transportation District (RTD) and West Metro Fire Rescue in a disaster readiness drill. Simulating a chemical explosion at a nearby RTD Light Rail station, the drill tested response readiness as it related to incident command, decontamination, use of information systems, communication and the hospital’s ability to treat a high volume of injured patients. St. Anthony joins other participants who volunteered to make the event realistic and successful. A special thanks to Boy Scout Troop 613 from Golden for its contribution to the cause!
