Home Is Wher Community provides choices for seniors, peace of mind for families A by Kevin Orze t ages 96 and 88 respectively, Tony Kozrowski and neighbor Dorothy Appel still enjoy their independent lifestyles. But they realize that there may come a day in the near future when they could benefit from the safety and security of living in a healthcareoriented retirement community. They wanted to be prepared for the unexpected and not burden their children, so they chose Hartsfield Village, Northwest Indiana’s senior living campus, 10000 Columbia Ave. in Munster. “I wanted to make my own decision and Hartsfield came highly recommended,” Appel says. “I didn’t want to wait until a place was chosen for me.” According to Kozrowski, when he couldn’t keep up his property in Portage any longer, he was looking for another place to call home. “One visit to Hartsfield Village convinced me,” Kozrowski says. “They have everything—it’s the next best thing to home.” Ninety-six-year-old tony Kozrowski enjoys independent living at Hartsfield Village. “As far as a facility, we have everything,” he says.
