Understanding the role of accreditation in improving your healthcare
Joint Commission milestone: A larger accrediting body was formed as an independent, not-for-profit organization to provide voluntary hospital accreditation. This has evolved into The Joint Commission. What it means to you: Parrish Medical Center has been continuously accredited by The Joint Commission since 1964. The hospital has met all requirements for accreditation during each survey. Surveys are not announced in advance, so PMC employees must always maintain the highest standards.
