An estimated 40,000 people in the Gwinnett area are currently living with cancer. And when it comes to cancer care, the needs vary based on diagnosis, stage and the patient’s personality. To form a more seamless system of care, Gwinnett Medical Center now has a strengthened relationship with Suburban Hematology Oncology Associates PC. For the past 30 years, these board-certified oncologists have provided infusion services, offering personalized care and innovation. Located in Lawrenceville, Duluth and Snellville, the infusion centers are now known as the Center for Cancer Care, a service of Gwinnett Medical Center. The venture allows us to build on our individual strengths and together set new goals for continuously improving our services for patients now and in the future. Patients can expect the same experienced physicians and staff of Suburban Hematology Oncology Associates, as well as the same infusion and injection services, including chemotherapy, hydration and other IV therapies. Although this new relationship is critical to GMC’s cancer services, we also are looking ahead to other program elements that might make a difficult journey somewhat easier. It’s a spectrum of care that involves not only prevention and treatment, but also ongoing survivorship to help patients live their lives to the fullest once treatment is complete. We realize healthcare is a journey that doesn’t simply end and begin, but moves along with you through life’s hills and valleys.
