Parkinson’s
disease puts life
in perspective for
a UVA professor
He was too young, too busy, too active. Parkinson’s disease (PD) simply did not fit into his life plan. But on Jan. 2, 1995, Robert Spekman,
PhD, a professor of business administration at University of Virginia
Darden Graduate School of Business, received the diagnosis. “I was
shocked,” Spekman says. “I was too young; I had just turned 48 and
there was no incidence of Parkinson’s in my family.” >
