Offering expanded services
“We are excited not only for the additional medical office space this building will provide, but
Also located in the facility will be CMH

patients in mind
Patients will really appreciate the new entrance
and patient-friendly registration area. Also
planned in the expansion are a coffee shop and a
cafeteria for families of patients and employees.
“We understand that patients and their
families may spend a lot of time with us as they
use our healthcare services,” says Babb. “We
want to ensure that the patient needs come
first, and we are building this facility with that
in mind.”

on a two-story, 80,000-square-foot addition to
the Kerry and Synda Douglas Medical Center in
Bolivar, Mo. When complete, the facility will be
nearly 120,000 square feet.
“The new project is expected to cost $18.2

Memorial Hospital and executive director of
Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation.
Funding for the construction of the project is
coming from a loan from the U.S. Department

DeWitt & Associates Inc. was selected as the
construction manager for the project, which is
expected to take 15 to 17 months to complete.
the expansion of the ambulatory surgical area,”
says Babb. “In the surgical area, four new surgical suites will be created; an additional new
endoscopic lab and the pre- and post-op area
will be remodeled in the existing Ambulatory
Surgical Center.”
The facility will also house a new Imaging
Center that will include MRI and PET/CT equipment, and the newly expanded Women’s Center.
“The space has been designed so that our
patients will be able to receive all of the imaging
studies that they may need—mammography,
ultrasound and even biopsy—in the same area.
It will be private and comfortable for patients
and will be a good workspace for us. We are
already proud of the service that we provide at
the Women’s Center, but the new facility will
take us to the next level,” says Jana Horner,
M.D., board-certified radiologist with CMH’s
Women Center.
