Many people probably resolved to lose weight this year, or possibly, again this year. For some, it takes more than just making a promise to themselves on Jan. 1st. Teresa Dawson was one of those people who needed a little extra help. After much research and with a wonderful support system in place, Teresa chose bariatric surgery. Read on page 6 about her inspiring story of losing more than 100 pounds and improving her overall health. When most of us get a cut or injury, our bodies are able to heal pretty quickly without much intervention. However, diabetes and other medical conditions can interfere with the body’s ability to heal, and even small cuts or sores may require assistance.
