AI estimates that in 2010, there were almost 62 million people living
in more than 309,000 association-governed communities across the
country. In addition, there are approximately 10,000 professional
community association management companies and 60,000 individual association
managers, combined with more than 1.75 million volunteers serving
on community association boards and tens of thousands more serving as
committee volunteers. It’s clear that common-interest communities are big
business and require lots of professional and volunteer support.
Volunteer leaders make decisions that often require an understanding of
legal, financial, maintenance and insurance issues. CAI and the New
England Chapter provide the necessary resources that help association volunteers
and their professional managers meet the ever-changing challenges
of today’s communities.
Fall programming brings a variety of educational events and professional
management development programs (PMDP) that will provide training for
condominium board members, committee members and association managers.
In addition, the CAI-NE Annual Condo Conference & Expo, the
highlight of the chapter’s program schedule, includes a full day of seminars,
professional consulting, exhibiting business partners and networking opportunities
as well as a free breakfast and lunch. (See the show guide on page
35). I invite you to join hundreds of other association volunteers and professionals
from around New England who will attend this FREE event on
Saturday, Oct. 27th.
