Each year, the chapter board and committees thoughtfully review existing programs, address member requests and evaluate realistic opportunities. To that end, in the coming months, members and readers will not only continue to take advantage of the many established chapter resources you have come to rely on like Condo Media magazine and the chapter website www.caine. org, but the chapter’s “maintenance” plan will unveil new educational formats that include webinars and on-demand programs that expand the traditional classroom offerings. In addition, over the coming months other new technologies will support more flexible and timely access of chapter resources and information by members — including community association board members, homeowners, managers and business partners. Chapter President Pete Garrett, CMCA, AMS, PCAM, has established his 2013 term as one in which to expand the chapter’s reach and promotion to all our New England chapter states through programming and increased membership. The membership committee will tackle this initiative with a newly structured committee and member appointments from representative states — Maine: Bob Keegan, CMCA, AMS, PCAM; Massachusetts: Richard Brooks, Esq; Rhode Island: Barbara Vieira, CMCA, AMS — focused on identifying new association volunteer leaders as well as business partners and introducing CAI and New England Chapter resources. Whether it’s paint and pruning or programming and promotion, proper prior planning prevents poor performance. In fact, many insurance carriers now offer that coverage.
