TO PROTECT THE COMMUNITY, ASSOCIATIONS CAN
PICK FROM A VAST ARSENAL OF TECHNOLOGIES
BY CHRISTOPHER R. LANNI, CMCA, AMS, CPP
An association's security initiative is defined by its use of policy and procedures,
as well as staffing and technology to limit its own and its members' liability, risk,
and exposure to loss and/or interruption.
As video camera, electronic access control, and other related technologies
continue to advance, become more accessible, and more user-friendly, they have
become more embedded in the residential property management field. In fact,
in many cases, they have spread beyond simply the function of "security" and
have become some of the many tools used by property managers, owners,
and boards to efficiently operate their properties.
