This is D1 driver, Kumakubo with Team Orange. I would like to make a fantastic announcement today. Our friend and Subaru Rally Team USA driver, Ken Block made cool orange colored racing shoes for us. I am really excited to wear those special driving shoes when I’m drifting at D1GP this year. I displayed the driving shoes at our booth at Tokyo Auto Salon 2008, and we got great compliments from lots of people who came to our booth. They were all wondering when the shoes will be released in Japan and they told us how cool they look. It was incredible. Thank you so much, Ken, for making those special shoes for Team Orange. hontoni arigato!!! We will do our best to promote DC Shoes in Japan. When you come to Japan for WRC Japan, we need to meet up again and we shall dorifuto. Right after I finished writing the last column, Tokyo Auto Salon started. This year, the new Impreza STI, EVO X, and the new GTR were the crowd’s favorites. Team Orange displayed one of our GDB Imprezas at the JUN Auto Mechanic booth, a GC8 at our Team Orange booth and the new EVO X – D1 spec at the Mitsubishi booth. Outside the convention center, a D1 Exhibition was held. Team Orange drifted Tanaka’s GDB and my EVO9. So we got to show everyone five Team Orange cars all of which are JUN Auto, Koyama-san’s creations, at one event. Let me tell you, maybe because we were displaying the GDB Impreza at the JUN booth, our FR Subarus were getting more attention than any other cars from everyone. You can see some photos and video on the JUN website (above). We had four races in three days and Team Orange won three of the races. The first day, I grabbed the win and the second and third days, Tanaka won. I wish we could have shown you guys in America! Lastly I’d like to tell you our 2008 plan. Unfortunately, for now we have no plans of coming to the 74 MAY 2008
