READERS’ RIDES ONCE AGAIN IT is time for Readers’ Rides, that section of the magazine that allows you, the reader, to shine and to decide who has the hottest car. This time around we have two “cat-eye” Imprezas. Which one is hot, which one is not? First up is Aaron Brooks, who clearly loves his car. What he does not love is sending properly formatted documents. But that is OK, he still gets to show his stuff. He writes: “Hey Guys, Love the mag. I wait at the mailbox every other month. I would love to see my baby in it one day. I have spent hours of effort into my STI. I am proud to say that all the work was done by myself, including the vinyl decals. I’ll send another email with a parts list. I think this car looks great in and out. Everything is done super-clean. It gathers large groups at car shows and brings home trophies, so I’m happy. Seems a stock 2008 STI just couldn’t pass muster against a carbon-fiber STI in the classic vein. We’re not sure what we’re going to mail to Jason for his victory, but we’ll find something. In the meanwhile, he can savor the sweet victory for it’s own sake. I’m a 24-year-old Subaru Enthusiast; I used to drive domestics. My wife and I bought a 2007 WRX a little over a year ago. After driving domestic tuner cars a buddy of mine, Wayne at VTR in Wash., told me I needed to go and check out a Subaru. Three days later I pulled into VTR’s parking lot with a 2007 Subaru WRX. Since I bought the car I have added a couple of things to it, starting with [a] Seibon Carbon Fiber trunk, hood, rear window vortex generator, [an] APR GTC-200 carbon fiber wing, TSW Thruxton wheels with Toyo tires and painted headlights with HID’s. Inside my machine I have a 2006 STI interior swap, Kartboy shifter with Zero/Sports STI shift boot and Prosport gauges. For performance I have a Perrin Signature Series FMIC, Perrin CAI, Perrin turbo inlet pipe, JDM STI strut bar and a custom ECU reflash. I just love this car, and so does my son that loves to help me the best he can, although he is only two years old.
