Forum member semprix also sought advice on the best certifications to get started in an IT career. “I’m thinking of taking new certifications for better competence; can you please recommend some certifications on the following fields: Networking, Security, Platform (Windows), and Platform (UNIX/Linus)?” semprix asked. Wagnerk offered these recommendations based on the required fields: “Networking: CompTIA Network+ & Cisco CCENT; Security: CompTIA Security+; Platform (Windows): MCDST; Platform (UNIX/ Linux): CompTIA Linux+. “There are a lot more,” wagnerk said, “but this is just a brief overview to get you started.” General Discussion CertMag is starting a new column called “Troubleshooting,” in which we’d like to help readers with technical questions. Maybe it’s just a tech problem you’re having at present or something more long-term that you’ve encountered and need some feedback on. It can even be a tech concept you’ve never fully grasped.
