While compensation tops the list with 27 percent, respondents reveal that professional development/training (21 percent) and flexible schedules (18 percent) also are valuable retention strategies. Rounding out the list were telecommuting (7 percent), extra vacation days or time off (6 percent) and granting company stock or options (2 percent). It comes as no surprise that Americans have been fazed by sky-rocketing gas prices. But starting in 2009, Chrysler customers can at least try to enjoy the (increasingly expensive) ride by investing in UConnect, a system that enables Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity in 20 of the company’s models. E-Mail Expert Addresses the White house’s IT Shortcomings Recent reports from Forrester Research and Secure Computing, an enterprise security firm, found that e-mail security is lacking in organizations of all sizes. No company is immune to the risk workers present when they do not follow security protocols — or worse, when no such measures are in place. This issue is so pervasive that it spreads all way to the U.S. government. The House Oversight Committee currently is investigating what the White House has referred to as “an undefined number of [missing e-mail] messages [from] March through May of 2003,” said e-mail expert David Gewirtz. Gewirtz explores what he calls The survey, titled “Information Security Career Progression Survey Results,” was taken by more than 1,400 CISMs in 83 countries. It revealed that CISMs increasingly are moving into management roles and taking on more business-related responsibilities. The most common activities performed by CISMs were reported to be risk management, security program management, data security, policy creation and maintenance and regulatory compliance.
