In August, the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) expanded its CTT+ (Certified Technical Trainer) Certification to include a new module for Virtual Classroom Trainers. But while billions of viewers reveled in new world records and celebrated their favorite athletes being catapulted to international fame, others were scheming to exploit this mammoth event to make — or steal — a quick buck. In 2007, Websense predicted that the Beijing Olympics would present the No. 1 security threat in 2008, with an expected increase in new cyberattacks, phishing and fraud. Some estimate the car will have a fuel economy of 106 miles per gallon. If you’re not particularly good at remembering faces, Google has just the right technology for you. In September, the search engine giant launched a new version of Picasa, complete with facial recognition technology. According to a Washingtonpost.com article, the program will ask you to identify and tag the people in your pictures. Then, as you begin to upload more pictures, the technology attempts to match details on each tagged face with pictures that are stored in a centralized database, provided the person is facing the camera and the lighting in the background is good. Technology Provides Facial Recognition Feature Company Helps Employers Address Recruitment Challenges German business software giant SAP has addressed the growing need for qualified entry-level workers by introducing a more affordable and accessible certification program for university students in the United States, Canada and Latin America. The certification program educates students in the area of enterprise resource planning software and has been expanded from one to three levels: associate, professional and master. In addition to expanding the scope of the certification program, SAP has introduced a slew of new courses that provide students with skills in line with industry demands and allow for better employment opportunities.
