That’s the philosophy behind Limeade, Inc., a Bellevue, Wash.based online software-as-a-service startup looking to improve a company’s workforce through physical and emotional well-being. “It takes a more engaging, whole-person, whole-population approach,” says Henry Albrecht, the CEO and founder of the roughly three-year-old company. “It’s a fundamentally different approach … that looks at creating a whole-health environment.” Limeade, which formally launched its Employee Vitality online wellness platform last month, makes use of clinical health, well-being and productivity assessments, goal-tracking (via phone, e-mail and other means), incentive management, a London-based private equity firm to acquire the TriZetto Group and take it private may have hit a snag. Apax Partners announced on April 11 an agreement to buy the TriZetto Group, Inc. for $1.4 billion. Under the terms of the agreement, Apax would pay $22 per share in cash, representing a 29 percent premium over the stock’s average price during the previous month. The stockonly portion of the deal is worth $943.7 million, based on 42.9 million shares outstanding in mid-February. That news didn’t sit well with some TriZetto shareholders. Brian M. Felgoise, a Jenkintown, Pa.based attorney, has announced he has filed a class-action lawsuit against TriZetto on behalf of dissatisfied shareholders who are hoping to get what they feel is the highest possible offering for their shares. The case is pending in the Delaware Court of Chancery against certain officers and directors, according to news reports. BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee and The Regence Group, both customers of TriZetto, are providing funding for the transaction and will be equity investors in the newly private company.
