Clayton will report to Paul Ricci, Nuance’s chairman and CEO, and will be located in Nuance’s Sunnyvale, California offices. In conjunction with Clayton’s appointment, Victor Chen has also joined Nuance as senior director, Creative Strategy. Toshiba America Information Systems has designated Mark Simons as the company’s next president and CEO. Simons will succeed Masa Fukakushi, who will become chairman and CEO of Toshiba America. Ade Lawal has joined Aspyra Inc. as vice president of strategy and business development. Merge Healthcare medical imaging software and services company, has reorganized its business operations with a change in executive management. Merge accepted the resignations of four company officers: Kenneth Rardin (CEO), Steven Norton (CFO), Gary Bowers (president of the company’s Merge North America Mark Simons division) and Loris Sartor (president of the company’s Cedara/Merge OEM division). Merge also appointed the following four new company officers: Justin C. Dearborn, CEO; Steven M. Oreskovich, chief financial officer; Nancy J. Ikonisys, a provider of non-invasive, cell-based diagnostic solutions, announced that longtime financial executive Keith Griffin Louise Mawhinney has joined the company as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Mawhinney will take over the CFO position from Paul White who continues as president. athenahealth, Inc. has announced that Christopher E. Nolin, has resigned as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary of athenahealth, in order to spend more time with his family. Daniel H. Orenstein, the company’s current deputy general counsel, will assume the role of general counsel and secretary. Truman Medical Centers has appointed Lisa Odom to the position of executive director of information excellence. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Vice President Harry Reynolds has been appointed chairman of the National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics. Helen Mitchell has joined Macfadden and Associates as senior program director of enterprise solutions.
