The initial focus will be on installing e-prescribing for primary care physicians and large group practices. The Pittsburgh-based health system, which admits more than 80,000 patients into its six hospitals each year, owns a primary care network of 36 physician practices. The health system will integrate an EHR system from Chicagobased Allscripts with IDX/GE’s Centricity Business, the practice management system used by its employed physicians.
