The Davies Awards recognize excellence in the implementation and use of health information technology in three categories: organizational, ambulatory and public health. Originally created by CPRI-HOST in 1995, the Davies Award program honors Dr. Nicholas Davies, an Atlanta-based physician who was committed to improving patient care through the use of health information technology. The October issue of the HIMSS Insider profiled the 2007 Davies Award recipients in the public health category; the Ambulatory Award recipients will be featured in the December HIMSS Insider. Dr. Bradley, a 2005 winner of the HIMSS Informatics Nursing Leadership Award, will utilize her industry experience to help strengthen Eclipsys’ nursing information solutions. Most recently, Dr. Bradley was the director of patient information for the University of Kentucky, Lexington, Ky., where she was responsible for the hospital medical records department. In addition, she was the project director for the implementation of an enterprise-wide integrated clinical information system. Her experience also included system selec- tion, contract negotiation and evaluation.
