HIMSS08 Networking Events-Searching for solutions, finding a shared vision N On Tuesday afternoon, during the 5K Fun Run (one-mile walk), sponsored by IntraNexus, participants can join other HIMSS08 attendees in some fun and friendly competition while enjoying the sites of Orlando. Tuesday rounds out with the Awards and Recognition Banquet, where attendees can join HIMSS in recognizing members for their significant contributions to the Society, their organizations and their profession. During this gala event, HIMSS and CHIME will present the John E. Gall Jr./CIO of the Year Award, the 2007 Davies Award of Excellence recipients will be recognized and the HIMSS Foundation will present its annual scholarships to student members studying in the healthcare information or management systems field. During the Wednesday Night Special Event at Universal Studios on Feb. 27, the excitement of an exclusive street party on the New York Backlot Street Set sets the scene for an evening of networking, performances by the Blues Brothers and attractions including Shrek 4-DTM, Revenge of the Mummy-The Ride and TWISTER.
