Most of our industry’s stakeholders are unaware of its widespread environmental thinking and practices in the areas of recycling, disposal, packaging, transportation and facilities management. Yet, our industry does not get credit for its extensive contributions to a cleaner environment. Well, it’s time we did! We will demonstrate to all appropriate audiences, our industry’s environmental responsibility through its commitment to having minimal impact on the health of the ecosystem and a positive impact on society and the planet. So, on behalf of our member companies and aftermarket businesses throughout America, AAIA has created our eco story: “The Automotive Aftermarket’s Green Story: Driving Toward a Cleaner Environment.” Kathleen schmatz AAIA President & CEO The story showcases the aftermarket industry’s practices, processes and products that are energy efficient, recyclable, reusable and non-hazardous. We will demonstrate to all appropriate audiences, our industry’s environmental responsibility through its commitment to having minimal impact on the health of the ecosystem and a positive impact on society and the planet. Whether it’s recycling used oil, batteries, tires, chemicals and other materials, or practicing energy savings in packaging and transportation, or even performing routine maintenance, the aftermarket is a leader in protecting the environment.
