HousIng program. The two awarded were to two chapters with previously awarded projects. Mobile Chapter 310, Mobile, Ala. has received its twelfth project, this one a 39-unit property to be constructed in Daphne, Ala. The Board president is ANHC President Nick Stratas who leads the way. With these 39 units, the chapter now will manage a total of 616 apartment units for low-income elderly. The three-story building will be fully equipped for the comfort and safety of the residents. Winthrop Chapter 250, New London, Conn., which has just dedicated its fourth property, received a fifth award of 52-units to be co-located in the current Niantic complex. These 52 units bring the chapter’s total units to be managed to 250 apartments, which coincidently matches its chapter designation. The Board president is AHEPA Board of Trustees Vice Chairman E. P. Terry Mitchell. President Stratas stated: “ANHC had hoped for more than two awards. We urge both AHEPA and Daughters chapters to pursue a HUD project of their own.” Chapters may ask for information and guidance by contacting Demetri Damaskos, ANHC Director of Development at 7202 N. Shadeland Avenue, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46250 or at ddamaskos@ahepamgmt.org, or by phone at 317-845-5890 and by viewing www.ahepahousing.org. speakers lauded the Daughters’ efforts, the quality of the building and its amenities and the AHEPA for the 88 properties developed throughout the United States. The Board hosted a reception for more than 90 guests in the multi-purpose room following the dedication ceremonies. The chapter is already envisioning adding future buildings to the Penelope’s Place complex. In addition to President Verges, the Board includes Mary Lymberry, vice pres., Delores Pappas, secretary, Marie Harris, treasurer, and Directors Vangie Barrow, Sharon Papadopoulos and Niki Vaughn.
