National Housing Corp. dedicates its new Headquarters building
By George Anagnostos, PSS
The AHEPA National Housing Corp. (ANHC) formally dedicated its new headquarters building in the Prairie View at Crosspoint Office Park, Fishers, Ind., a suburb of Indianapolis. The building will also house its subsidiary AHEPA Management Co. (AMC). The need for the purchase was brought about by the demolition of its previously leased headquarters in Indianapolis due to impending highway construction. The new building is a single story, 6,000 sq. ft. new construction in a growing community. The formal dedication ceremony took place in conjunction with the corporation’s annual meeting of the Board of Directors. The Board consists of all the presidents of each operating project, currently 86, with six under development. The day began with a tour for the directors of the building followed by the official dedication ceremony. Rev. John Koen, Holy Apostles Church, Indianapolis and Rev. William Cassis, of Cincinnati, representing Metropolitan Nicholas, Detroit, conducted the Invocation. Arthur Poly, AMC CEO and executive director of Development, ANHC, welcomed the large crowd which included 38 Directors, invited guests and staff personnel of ANHC and AMC. “After 20 years of renting offices, the Board of Directors decided that the companies should acquire their own property,” Poly said. “Today we are pleased to open the doors to our new corporate offices in Fishers.” Dan Canan and Paul Piltz, Fishers Camber of Commerce; and Fishers Town Manager Scott Fadness provided greetings on behalf of the city. A very special guest was Nick Smyrnis, PSP, whose visionary genius was the founding of the ANHC and AMC, of which he was the president of both. He cited the great progress from the early days to today’s organization providing much needed elderly housing. ANHC Vice President George Anagnostos read a message from Nick Stratas, chairman and president, ANHC, who could not attend. A special honor was the attendance of Supreme President Nicholas Karacostas, who lauded the corporation and management company, which provide services to the elderly and represent the Order in a superb manner. Revs. Koen and Cassis then blessed the building and thereafter followed the traditional ribbon cutting, witnessed by the large group of Directors, guests and staff personnel. The Benediction followed and CEO Poly invited all to a short reception where a toast was raised to the event. Supreme President Karacostas again addressed the directors assembled. Revs. Koen and Cassis conducted a Trisagion service in memory of departed directors and staff. All participated at a luncheon that followed.
