Each year Court Kavanaugh awards two $1,000 scholarships – one to a young man and one to a young woman –from among those St. Mary’s graduates who plan to attend a Catholic High School. The awards are not based on scholastics or financial need but rather on how well the students live their Catholic faith. The scholarship award is named after the daughter of Jeff and Mary Petrino who died in 1999 at the age of 14 after a courageous battle against Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Julia’s mother Mary is a long time and active member of Court Kavanaugh. C ourt St. Mary #2158, Guthrie, Oklahoma, was proud of the drawing submitted by young Seth Dauenhaurer in the Circle of Love Education Contest sponsored by the court.
