SHARE - Fall 2008 - (Page 28) News&Notes High Time for High Tea in Montana Past National Directors’ Club Meets at Convention T Court St. Cecelia, #1151, Billings, Montana, held its annual high tea on April 15, 2008, at St. Thomas Church in Billings. Hats and gloves were worn. The court officers furnished the potluck lunch. Thirty-five ladies were present. Bingo was played and everyone brought a gift to be given as a prize. Offering Rosaries for Unborn Babies M embers of Court Lafayette #410, Dover, New Jersey, met at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 3, to join other Catholic Daughters from around the country to offer a rosary for unborn babies. Afterwards, everyone enjoyed breakfast together. he Past National Directors’ Club held a successful dinner meeting at the Biennial National Convention in Albuquerque on July 15. Thirty-three dues-paying members including Past National Regents Grace Rinaldi and M. Joan McKenna attended. Club officers Idella Miller, president, Rose Tomassi, secretary, and M. Joan McKenna, treasurer, planned a special evening for National Regent Claudia Bosch in which the club gave Claudia a figurine of Joseph, Mary and 10-year old Jesus in Joseph’s woodshop as a gesture of appreciation for her service to the CDA as national regent. President Miller held a memorial service to honor P .N.D. Ginger Duffy from Colorado. The mission of the club, which meets biennially during the National Convention, is to affirm the goals and programs of the CDA and to honor deceased directors every November with a Mass celebrated by the current national clergy consultant. This past year the club also donated $500 to the restoration of the CDA national headquarters office and apartment, which was used to purchase a washer and dryer. In leaving the dinner, a pact was made to actively work towards increasing CDA membership in each of the club members’ home states and to support the vision of new National Regent Libby Ramirez.
