One of Brother John’s assignments was to give catechismal training in rural villages in Guatemala while the country was faced with civil violence. The award categories were essay, poetry, art, photography, computer art and poster with the themes “Jesus is the Light of the World” and “People Who Light Up My World.” The teas have been given for several years by parents and teachers in appreciation of the help Court #392 provides to the school. The court pays the yearly tuition for one student in need, donates toward one faculty salary and the purchase of books for the library. Several court members also donate their time to the school.
