MailBag Working Toward World Peace Dear Peggy: After reading your book review in the summer 2008 issue of Share magazine, it appears that Supreme Knight Carl Anderson, CDA and Pope Benedict XVI are all on the same wave length. Having spent time at the Washington Retreat House in Washington, D.C., with several religious guests gathered for the interfaith assembly held at the Pope John Paul II Cultural Center, it was evident that these various leaders all had personal goals of world peace and human dignity and hoped that the pope would be a catalyst to realize that goal. Being in the presence of the Muslim, Hindu and Jewish representatives before and after their historic meeting, I realized that what Carl Anderson calls “a new humanity” wrapped in unconditional love and prayer can indeed be reached with the assistance of all Christian leaders facilitating the pope’s message of courage and hope. As CDA members we can be proud of our stated mission and the two-year theme of Claudia Bosch’s regime, which called for “women embracing the gift of humanity.” Peggy, thank you for your timely and well-written book reviews. You certainly are an inspirational and motivational writer. M.
