EBACE Show News - May 20, 2008 - (Page 47) CEOs on Training A SERIES “Honda chooses FlightSafety because we both place the highest emphasis on safety .” Drop by and visit us at EBACE Booth 306 MICHIMASA FUJINO President and CEO Honda Aircraft Company Michimasa Fujino holds a degree in aeronautical engineering, but by his own admission he had never touched an airplane until he came to the United States in the mid-1980s. That’s when Honda moved him from a team working on automobiles to join a small group of company engineers working on a secret experimental aircraft project. There he gained invaluable hands-on experience in designing, fabricating and testing advanced aircraft components. Working on the project continuously since that time, Fujino has been the driving force behind both the innovative design and development of the HondaJet. H onda, known worldwide as a leader in mobility products, has a long history of leadership in the development and application of advanced safety technologies and designs. When the company decided in the late 1990s to develop a light business jet, it set out to design virtually every component from scratch. But when it came to enhancing the safety features Honda builds into its jets, it chose FlightSafety International as its training partner. “FlightSafety’s excellent reputation for sophisticated and thorough pilot training is based on incredible experience that cannot be found anywhere else in the world, says Michimasa ” Fujino, president and chief executive officer of Honda Aircraft Company. “Our relationship is based on our shared values to establish higher standards for safety and to jointly create the best pilot training programs for HondaJet customers.” HondaJet sets new standards for performance, quality and comfort with a series of new technologies and design features – including its most identifiable feature, the over-the-wing enginemount. Honda recognized FlightSafety’s similar commitment to advanced technology in its instructional programs, as well as its constant search for the most effective instructors and the most innovative learning processes. “From the beginning, it has been our goal to create new value for customers in the field of aviation, Fujino says. “We will ” continue our efforts to deliver a product of outstanding safety, performance, quality and comfort, matched by the best sales and service operation, to exceed customer expectations. Our alliance with FlightSafety is a key component of this commitment.” For more information, please contact any of our Learning Centers or call Scott Fera: 636.532.5933.
