EBACE Sessions Schedule: If This Is Tuesday… Following a continental breakfast, EBACE’s Opening General Session will begin at 9 a.m. in Hall 5 with EBAA’s Eric Mandemaker and Ed Bolen of the NBAA acting as moderators. Guest speakers are to include Daniel Calleja, director of Directorate F of the European Commission, and astronaut Claude Nicollier. The group will address the high rate of growth of business aviation in Europe and conclude at 10 a.m. Tuesday afternoon sessions in Hall 7, Room 1 include “Business Aviation and the Environment—Setting the Standard?” moderated by Brian Humphries of EBAA, with guest speakers Andre Clodong, Guy Visele and Philip Good of EBAA and Rich Gage of the Canadian Business Aviation Association. The session runs from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and will explore options for business aviation to further reduce its carbon footprint, along with the implications of potential solutions. From 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., EBAA’s Pedro Vicente Azua will moderate “The Single European Sky and SESAR, including the ATM Concept of Operations and the Technological Changes That It Will Require.” Guest speakers David Marsh and Bernard Miailler of Eurocontrol, Serge Lebourg of Dassault Aviation and Miroslav Matousek of Honeywell will explore air traffic growth, including business aviation’s contribution, and the technologies and infrastructure development needed to accommodate it. Wednesday sessions also meet in Hall 7, Room 1 and begin with “Airport and Transatlantic Access, the Biggest Danger to the Future of Business Aviation in Europe! What Is Being Done?” from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Mark Wilson of NetJets moderates, along with guest speakers Nikolaas Pel of the EC, Dayton Lehman of the U.S. DOT, David Carlisle of TAG, Michiel Van der Zee of Stichting Airport Coordination Netherlands and Fernando Echegaray of Barcelona International Airport. From 11 a.m. to noon, “Business Aviation Safety Update—What Are We Doing To Deliver Continuous Improvement and Tackle the Problems of Level Busts, Gross Navigational Errors and Runway Incursions?” will take place with moderator Don Spruston of the IBAC and guest speakers Karen Skinner of UK NATS, Chris Finnegan of UKCAA, Bill Voss from the Flight Safety Foundation and John Duncan, FAA. From 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., “EU and U.S. Security Developments and the Implications for Business Aviation” will be moderated by Guy Lachlan of the British Business and General Aviation Association. Guest speakers include Pedro Vicente Azua, EBAA; Lindsey McFarren, U.S. TSA; Vick Reeder, U.S. TSA; and NBAA’s Doug Carr. From 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., Steve Fisher of Shell Aircraft will moderate “Synthetic and Enhanced Vision Devices—What Are the Operational Benefits and Will They Be Affordable and Available for All?” Guest speakers include Frans van Gorkum of EASA, Mike Mena and T Horne of Gulfstream om and Sergio Ceculta of Honeywell. Thursday starts off with “VLJs Are Coming? No, They Are Here!” from 9 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with EBAA’s Guy Broddin as moderator, joined by guest speakers Alex Hendriks of Eurocontrol, Stefan Vilner of JetBird and Peter Leiman of Blink. From 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Eric Sivel of EASA will be a guest speaker for “How Can We Leverage the Benefits of Synthetic Training Within EASA’s Changing Rules,” led by Eric Sivel of EASA, Captain Robin Purse of Airbus Executive Aviation and Steve Fedynyszyn of FlightSafety International.
