Dubai’s Dnata Delivers Observant visitors arriving airside for EBACE will have noted the airport ground support vehicles wearing “Dnata” titles, rather than the “Jet Aviation Handling” logo carried at this time last year. Dnata, the ground handling system, air freight and travel services provider of Dubai, acquired the latter in November last year and has rebranded it as Dnata Switzerland. Dnata has continued its expansion more recently, with the confirmation of Empire Aviation Group (EAG) as a preferred provider of executive jet charter services to Dnata’s subsidiary, Luxury Air Travel. The agreement reflects the strong growth of private air charter services within the Middle East in both the corporate and leisure travel segments. Under its terms, the company will market and sell the private jet charter services of EAG, which is also based in Dubai. To support this new deal, Luxury Air Travel by Dnata is including complimentary limousine transfers with every Empire Aviation charter booked. Six months after receiving its Aircraft Operator’s Certificate, EAG has built a fleet of six, most recently including a Hawker 850XP and an Embraer Legacy 600. A Gulfstream III is expected before the end of this month. —Paul Jackson Ben Shirazi is COO of The Aero Toy Store. 76 May 20, 2008 www.aviationweek.com/shownews http://www.aviationweek.com/shownews
