Orders Flow for Airbus and Boeing Orders might be slowing for Airbus and Boeing as airlines battle the high price of oil but one wouldn’t have thought it yesterday, when the two signed contracts for nearly 100 aircraft worth well over $10 billion. That brought their tally for the first three days of the show to at least $50 billion, at list prices. Airbus also launched its new A320/A321 passenger-to-freighter conversion program with a contract to convert 30 aircraft for leasing company AerCap. Wizz Air Selects IAE for 50 Airbus A320s Wizz Air, Central and Eastern Europe’s largest low-cost airline, signed a $1.6 billion order with IAE International Aero Engines to power 50 A320s with V2500s. The deal brought IAE’s engine sales at the Show to 300 V2500s worth some $3 billion at list prices. IAE also signed contracts for aftermarket services worth another $3 billion for a tally of $6 billion in just the last three days.
