Fly Bell. ’ A big part of flying smart is training with FlightSafety .” RICHARD MILLMAN President and Chief Executive Officer, Bell Helicopter Richard Millman is an electrical engineer with a broad background in aerospace and defense systems. He served as vice president of the Textron Office of the Chairman with strategic planning responsibilities and as president of defense contractor Textron Systems Corporation before being named Bell CEO and president in early 2007. Additionally, he is the American Helicopter Society board chairman. He holds degrees from MIT and Columbia and is a member of the executive board of the Air Force/ MIT/Industry Lean Aerospace Initiative consortium. A former member of the U.S. Rowing Team, Millman continues to compete in U.S. and international rowing events. B ell, a name almost synonymous with helicopters, designed and built its first helicopter from scratch in just six months in 1942.
