WHETHER YOU’RE TRYING OUT A NEW TENT for the first time or just want to spend a day splashing in the shallows of the lake, Greenfield State Park offers a relaxing experience for all ages. Tucked away in this 400-acre park are ponds, bogs, and a forest that extends to the shore of undeveloped Otter Lake. The park offers opportunities to swim, fish, walk, canoe, camp and picnic in a variety of settings. Greenfield’s walking paths and nature trails lead to wetlands, beaver ponds and other points of interest in the park. The predominantly evergreen forests on soft rolling hills are well-maintained and invite carefree walks in the woods. The Hogback Pond Trail leads to an open-sided, irregular-shaped pond, then back through airy woods on an easy path. Otter Lake offers 61 acres of peaceful paddling and warm-water fishing, with a chance to hook into largemouth and smallmouth bass, pickerel and horned pout. Greenfield Wildlife: Otter Lake is popular among anglers, but it’s also popular among otters!
