History buffs enjoy exploring the park’s longabandoned and overgrown cellar holes, remnants of early farm settlement and lumbering of the late 1700s and early 1800s. District 3 Supervisor Clyde Kimball EIGHT YEARS AGO, +20yrs Clyde Kimball, Bureau of Bureau of Trails Trails District 3 supervisor, was grooming a snow-covered trail early in the morning. He came across a moose on the path and couldn’t pass. The recollection of this meeting, Kimball says, is a constant reminder to preserve and protect the state’s wildlife for future generations. That’s also his advice for others out on the trails. As a Trails Supervisor, Kimball works with private landowners as well as organized snowmobile and ATV clubs to build and maintain motorized trails in his region. KIMBALL’S TRAIL TIPS: Exercise extreme caution at all times, Kimball says. Always expect the unexpected – you may come around a corner and come across a moose or a broken-down sled. KEY TO SYMBOLS: =Camping =Hiking It’s hard to define the terms “novice” and ” “expert, so Kimball says that trails in New Hampshire are now labeled as “easy, “more ” difficult” and “most difficult. ” Kimball’s favorite trail?
