Popular activities in the park include swimming, picnicking, and boating. Amenities include picnic tables, kayak and paddleboat rentals, flush toilets and a park store. Relax at Silver Lake. EVEN AS A CHILD, Tara Mayo made a great park manager. When her brother and his childhood friends wanted to build a fire in the woods, Mayo insisted that they build it near a stream and keep a bucket of water nearby.
