West Virginia’s diverse topography lends itself to golf courses that are as unique as fingerprints and enormously entertaining. here are layouts in extreme settings, such as the Twisted Gun Golf Club on a former mountaintop removal site. However, most layouts are in the mountains rather than on them, following paths carved by ancient waterways. The state’s western border is in the broad Ohio River delta, and the center of the Eastern Panhandle lies in the rolling Shenandoah Valley. In between, from north to south, the state is a mosaic of river valleys winding among wooded valleys and peaks. have golf courses offering fair tests of golf in pretty settings at modest prices. What’s more, courses in the mountains are refreshingly cool in summer and provide an ever-changing visual feast ranging from the wildflowers of spring to the brilliant hues of fall foliage.
