New Hampshire Official Travelers Handbook 2009-2010 - (Page 51) By Kim Windyka Like a kid in a (New Hampshire) candy store Whether it was a day at the zoo, a trip to the arcade, or even just splashing in puddles, some childhood memories make me yearn for a return to simpler times, when my biggest worry was making it home by dark. Fortunately, reclaiming my youth is an easy task in New Hampshire, where activities for kids – and even big kids like me – abound. Activities for KID-SIZED FUN First on my journey is a visit to Charmingfare kids like me Farm in Candia, which boasts more than 200 abound. different animals – wild and farm – including cougars, wolves, horses and llamas, as well as a hands-on petting area with several breeds of sheep and goats. While I couldn’t participate in the children’s summer camps, the farm offers year-round seasonal fun for all, like pumpkin festivals, hay and sleigh rides, and even an Easter egg hunt, so a return visit is definitely in order. Waving goodbye to my newfound furry friends, I continue on to Dover in order to explore the Children’s Museum, formerly located in Portsmouth.
